How to get Pokerstars Rakeback? Or is there something equivalent?
When looking for an online poker site to play at, there are many factors a poker player must consider to make the optimal choice.
It is not enough to simply look at whether the poker room offers rakeback for its players or not. You should also look at what other benefits the online poker site offers, such as the bonus system and rewards.
Even though the largest online poker room - PokerStars, doesn't offer rakeback, it has one of the best VIP Programs in the industry.
In fact if you take a closer look, you will discover it can be more attractive then getting a rakeback deal on another poker room. In this article we will discuss the PokerStars VIP program in detail so you can compare the benefits to rakeback.
A lot of people mistakenly think that the VIP Program isn’t as good as getting a rakeback deal with another online poker room. Well, this simply isn't true and if you are using the PokerStars VIP Program to your benefit, then you will be able to receive a lot of extra free money which will be a nice addition to your bankroll.
Rakeback at Pokerstars: the VIP Club
The best way to get the most out of the program is to primarily play on PokerStars instead of playing on multiple poker sites. That way, you get to accumulate the maximum amount of player points and really get the most out of the VIP program. Otherwise, you will only accumulate a handful of points on various different sites and you won't be able to do anything with them.
The key here is that the VIP Club uses a ladder system: the more points you have, the more valuable they become. And note that regular players at Pokerstars earn anywhere between $10 and $100,000 or even more from the VIP Club.
The PokerStars VIP Program is based on a points system. Every time you play in any real money games, both in cash games or online tournaments, your account will be credited with VPP/FPP Points. The number of frequent player points you earn will depend on how much rake you pay in real money games. Another factor in determining the FPP you earn is your current VIP status.
Anyone with a PokerStars account starts as a BronzeStar, which is the lowest VIP status, where you will earn 1 FPP for every 1 VPP that you earn. As you move up in levels, you will get to earn FPPs at a faster rate.
There are six different levels in the PokerStars VIP Program, and the higher VIP level you can achieve, the more bonuses and rewards you will be able to earn. Your FPP’s are used to purchase items and cash bonuses from the VIP Store as well as buy-in to certain tournaments on PokerStars.
In order to use the PokerStar VIP Program effectively, it would be advisable to purchase cash bonuses from the VIP store. In order to purchase a cash bonus from the VIP Store you need to be at least a SilverStar VIP Member, which is the second lowest tier. Below is a breakdown of the different cash bonuses you can buy in the VIP Store.
- $50 Bonus – 5,000 FPP’s – SilverStar
- $285 Bonus – 25,000 FPP’s – GoldStar
- $650 Bonus – 50,000 FPP’s – PlatinumStar
- $1500 Bonus – 100,000 FPP’s – Supernova
- $4000 Bonus – 250,000 FPP’s – Supernova Elite
As you can see, even though it's not possible to get a rakeback deal on PokerStars the VIP program is a good alternative, and best of all its available to every player, unlike rakeback which is only available to some players.
If you want to see how many VPP’s you have in your account to see if you are eligible to receive a cash bonus, simply click the cashier tab and then click on VIP Status to find out how many VPP’s you’ve earned for the current month and current year.
